The GE Capital group of companies (“GE”) respect the privacy of every individual who visits this site.

What information do we collect?

In general, you can visit our ge.capital.com website (the “Site”) without giving us any information. If you are one of our anonymous visitors, please bear in mind that we may still:

  • Collect information about your computer, such as which browser you are using, your network location, the type of connection you are using (e.g. broadband, ADSL etc).

We may also collect information anonymously with the aid of a 'Pop Up Survey´. Pop Up Surveys are windows that appear as you navigate our Site and that request you to submit information concerning your views on our Site or other information that helps us in determining how to improve it. Information requested through Pop Up Surveys is not personally identifiable unless you volunteer personal information in your response. What we mean by 'anonymously´ in this privacy policy is that we will not use the IP address of your computer, which is sent to our systems when you connect to this Site or submit data, to personally identify you.


However, additional services may be available if you register with the Site. In this case, once you register, your activities on the Site and information about your computer may be linked on our systems to you. The types of information we may request are:

Who do we share personal data with?

We may disclose your personal data (and any other data submitted to us via this Site) to our affiliate companies worldwide, including without limitation GE Capital Finance SpA (Italy) and GE Factofrance SNC (France) and potentially other companies in the General Electric Company group of companies, and to other unaffiliated third parties, for the marketing and enquiry response purposes described above. Phishing

Phishing is the name given to attempts to steal personal details and financial account details from a website user. “Phishers” use fake or “spoof” emails to lead users to counterfeit websites where the user is tricked into entering their personal details, such as credit card numbers, user names and passwords. WE WILL NEVER SEND EMAILS ASKING YOU FOR SUCH DETAILS AND GE STAFF WILL NEVER ASK YOU FOR YOUR PASSWORD. Although, please note that if you order an Annual Report to be delivered electronically, we may ask for the last 4 digits of your account number.


If you do receive such an email or are asked for your password by anyone claiming to work for GE please forward the email or report the incident by email or in writing (please see our contact details below).


When you apply for a job with GE

In completing our job application form or submitting your CV to us by email, you will give us personal information about yourself.


  • Uses of personal data
    We will use your personal data only for the purpose of assessing your suitability for employment by us and in any subsequent interviewing process. Copies of the information you submit and any further correspondence will be retained in order to progress your job application and as a record of our employment and fair access processes.
  • Third party access
    When you apply for a job with GE the application will be processed by the relevant office of GE situated in the country in which you are accessing the Site and the country in which you are applying to work, if different. We also employ third party agents to aid the recruitment process. Your CV and other details will be given to our nominated agent in the country in which you are applying to work, although we will retain control of your data and the agent must act in accordance with our instructions.
  • Retention of data
    We take all reasonable steps to retain personal information only for as long as we need to process your job application. We may also retain your details after a decision has been reached regarding your suitability for current jobs for vacancies that may become available in the future. If no longer wish us to store your personal information, please contact us (see contact details below) and we will delete it from our database unless we need to continue to hold some details about you after your relationship with us has ended, for example for legal and regulatory purposes.
